What if you really wanted Connor McDavid‘s autograph but you were a dangerous height above him, with a railing and a security badge preventing you from handing the superstar his jersey?
Mmmm… drop.
During McDavid’s first voyage to Philadelphia, a fan at Wells Fargo Center lowered a No. 97 sweater to him at the arena’s loading dock, tossed down a Sharpie, got the Rookie of the Month’s signature and then reeled his prize back up more than 20 feet.
Sportsnet’s intrepid Gene Principe caught the action on his cellphone:
“They’re pretty creative sometimes,” McDavid told reporters Thursday. “That was one of the more creative ways to get an autograph I’ve seen.”
