In Conversation: Offering clarity on unexpected NHL Draft Lottery result

On a special edition of In Conversation, Ron Maclean was joined by Elliotte Friedman, Sam Cosentino and Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion to break down a shocking 2020 NHL Draft Lottery.

With a placeholder team winning the first overall pick in the NHL Draft, Friday’s lottery raised a few more questions. Among them: Which team now has the best chance of landing the No. 1 pick and what happens if the NHL is unable to complete the playoff round? Friedman was able to shed some light on those questions, and more.

Dorion then joined the show to offer his reaction to Ottawa missing out on the first overall pick. The Senators GM said, though it was an unexpected outcome, he believes his team is in a position of strength with the No. 3 and 5 picks in the draft.
