The Arizona Coyotes have acquired centre Carl Soderberg from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Kevin Connauton and a 2020 third-round draft pick.

“Carl is a versatile, 200-foot player who has a history of being productive and playing tough minutes,” said Coyotes GM John Chayka in a statement. “He will be a stabilizer in our lineup and gives our coaching staff lots of flexibility.”

Soderberg, 33, registered 23 goals and 49 points in 82 games with the Avalanche last season.

Connauton had 16 goals and 39 points over four seasons with the Coyotes.
