Coyotes acquire Elias Pettersson’s brother Emil from Predators

The Arizona Coyotes have added the brother of a division rival in a minor-league trade with the Nashville Predators.

Emil Pettersson, the brother of Vancouver Canucks star Elias, is heading to the Coyotes. Forwards Laurent Dauphin and Adam Helewka are going back to Nashville in the trade.

Pettersson, 25, is five years older than his brother and was a sixth-round pick by the Predators in 2013. In his second season with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, Pettersson leads the team in scoring with 33 points, including 11 goals.

Dauphin, 23, was a second-round pick by the Coyotes in 2013. In 34 games with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners this season, he has six goals and 20 points. He has also appeared in 35 NHL games over the past four seasons, scoring three goals and four points.

Helewka, 23, was a fourth-round pick by the San Jose Sharks in 2015. In 41 games with the Roadrunners this season, he has 13 goals and 31 points.
