The Arizona Coyotes have signed defenceman Cam Crotty to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
Crotty spent the past three seasons at Boston University where he recorded 27 points in 102 career games, leading the team to a Hockey East Conference Championship.
“He’s good. He’s got size. He can play at the offensive blue line, the neutral zone. He can defend in his zone. He can make high-end plays,” Boston University head coach Albie O’Connell told the Boston Herald‘s John Connolly in February.
“He doesn’t push it. He’s reliable. He’s resilient. I think that at the next level he will be a good two-way defenceman that the coaches will like.”
The 20-year-old was selected by the Coyotes in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
