Defenceman Thomas Hickey returns to Islanders on four-year deal

The New York Islanders have signed defender Thomas Hickey to a four-year contract, the club announced Sunday.

Hickey’s deal will pay him $10 million over those four years, according to Sportsnet’s John Shannon, which amounts to $2.5 million per season.

The 29-year-old, who was originally drafted fourth-overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2007, has spent six seasons with the Islanders.

He posted 25 points through 69 games from the blue line in 2017-18, taking his career totals to 111 points in 409 games.
