Devils goalie Cory Schneider leaves game with apparent injury

Cory Schneider had to exit the Devils' season opener against the Jets due to injury.

New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider left during the third period of Friday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets after allowing a goal and appearing to be in some pain.

Jets’ Jack Roslovic scored with 17:19 left in the third period to make it 4-2 when Mackenzie Blackwood entered the game in Schneider’s place. He had stopped 19 of 21 shots in New Jersey’s season opener.

It isn’t yet known what the extent of Schneider’s injury is or whether he’ll miss any time as a result.
