New Jersey Devils centre Nico Hischier will replace teammate Kyle Palmieri on Team Metropolitan at the upcoming NHL All-Star Game.

Palmieri will miss the game due to a left-foot injury.

Hischier, 21, is on pace for new career-highs with 12 goals and 28 points through 40 games this season. This is the first time the 2017 first-overall pick will compete in the All-Star Game.

The NHL All-Star weekend will take place Jan. 24 and 25 in St. Louis.
