Coach’s Corner star Don Cherry, who appeared on Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Brady & Lang this morning, announced on Thursday during an interview with George Stroumboulopoulos that he had joined Twitter, and less than 24 hours later the most colourful of commentators had 10,000 followers and rising.
Although the account @CoachsCornerCBC has yet to be verified and no tweets had been fired off as of Friday morning, the account links back to the network’s site and looks like the real deal.
The 78-year-old hockey icon’s new feed promises to give followers “the inside scoop on Coach’s Corner with tweets from Don Cherry and Kathy Broderick, Grapes’s good friend and producer on Hockey Night in Canada.”
Since Cherry has yet to tap out a single tweet from his new account, we have humbly compiled a list of 25 potential first tweets for Grapes to send out to his fans.
