The Anaheim Ducks have claimed goaltender Chad Johnson off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.
The move comes after Ducks’ backup goaltender Ryan Miller was forced to exit Sunday’s game against the New Jersey Devils with a lower-body injury. The Ducks announced Tuesday that Miller could be out for up to six weeks with a MCL sprain.
Johnson, 32, is joining his eighth team since breaking into the NHL with the New York Rangers in the 2009-10 season. In 10 games this season, seven of them starts, he has a 2-6-0 record with a 3.54 goals against average and .884 save percentage.
