Ducks defenceman Kevin Bieksa out indefinitely with hand injury

Watch as the Ducks' Kevin Bieksa unleashes a Superman punch to drop Radko Gudas.

The Anaheim Ducks announced Thursday defenceman Kevin Bieksa is out indefinitely with a hand injury, but no, it had nothing to do with the “Superman punch” he landed on Philadelphia Flyers blueliner Radko Gudas.

Bieksa went viral after dropping Gudas with a unique right-handed strike in a fight during a game Tuesday. Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle clarified when speaking with reporters that it is Bieksa’s left hand that is injured.

It’s another tough blow to a Ducks back end that is currently without Cam Fowler, who is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Hampus Lindholm had labrum surgery in the off-season and missed the first seven games of the season but returned to action against he Flyers.

Bieksa had three assists and 29 penalty minutes in seven games prior to sustaining his left hand injury.
