The Anaheim Ducks fired assistant coach Brad Lauer on Tuesday night, two weeks after exiting from the third round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
“We’ve spent the last week evaluating everything from top to bottom, including all player and staff performance,” Ducks executive vice president and general manager Bob Murray said.
“This process is something I believe is essential each and every year, no matter the results of the season. We’ve decided to refocus and change the responsibilities of one of the assistant coach positions. We want to thank Brad Lauer for his hard work and dedication, and we wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Anaheim was eliminated in Game 7 of the Western Conference final by the Chicago Blackhawks. The Ducks had the best regular season record in the West this year at 51-24-7.
This past season was Lauer’s fourth with the club after joining the team in July 2012.
Prior to joining Anaheim, Lauer served for two years as an assistant with the Ottawa Senators.
