The Anaheim Ducks acquired Tomas Fleischmann from the Florida Panthers on Saturday in exchange for forward Dany Heatley and a third-round draft pick in this year’s draft.
Fleischmann was in his fourth season in Florida, notching seven goals and 14 assists in 52 games this year. The trade reunites him with Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau, whom coached Fleischmann in Washington.
Heatley has played in only six NHL games this season with Anaheim, while spending the majority of his time in the AHL. With the Norfolk Admirals, Heatley has appeared in 25 games and has two goals and five assists. The former 50-goal scorer in 2006-07 with the Ottawa Senators has also played for the Atlanta Thrashers, San Jose Sharks and Minnesota Wild.
