Anaheim Ducks starting goaltender John Gibson left Friday’s game against Colorado Avalanche after the first period with an undisclosed injury.
The television broadcast was speculating Gibson had suffered a hand injury, although the team would not confirm if Gibson is in fact injured and what the injury might be.
Gibson stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced in the opening stanza.
Prior to Friday’s contest, Gibson had gone 2-1-1 with a .920 save percentage and 2.79 goals-against average.
Earlier the same game, Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon suffered an eye injury after taking a high stick.
