Ducks place Clayton Stoner on waivers

The Anaheim Ducks have placed defenceman Clayton Stoner on waivers for demotion to the minors.

A person with direct knowledge of the move told The Associated Press on Thursday on the condition of anonymity because the Ducks have not announced placing Stoner on waivers.

Stoner is a seven-year NHL veteran, and spent the previous two seasons with Anaheim. He had a goal and five assists in 50 games last season.

The Ducks announce they’ve demoted forwards Ondrej Kase and Julius Nattinen to their American Hockey League affiliate in San Diego.

Other NHL players placed on waivers include: Dallas forwards Justin Dowling and Matej Stransky; Vancouver forwards Jayson Megna, Michael Zalewski and Michael Chaput and defenceman Andrey Pedan; New York Islanders defenceman Scott Mayfield; and New York Rangers goalie Magnus Hellberg.
