Ducks’ Thompson to have hearing for hit on Hurricanes’ Faulk

Ducks Nate Thompson receives a five-minute match penalty for his high hit on Justin Faulk.

Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Monday to address his hit on Carolina HurricanesJustin Faulk during Friday’s game.

Just over six minutes into the first period, Thompson caught Faulk up high with an illegal check to the head.

Thompson received a five-minute major for elbowing as well as a game misconduct. Faulk was shaken up, but remained in the game.
