Canucks’ Lack to make first NHL start vs. Flames

Eddie Lack will make his first career National Hockey League start when the Vancouver Canucks visit the Calgary Flames Sunday.

The team has decided to give Roberto Luongo the day off following a 6-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers Saturday.

Lack has spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. In 13 appearances with the Wolves last season, the Norrtalje, Sweden native went 7-4-1 with a .899 save percentage and a 3.00 goals-against average.

The undrafted 25-year-old became the Canucks backup when the team traded Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils at this summer’s NHL Draft.
