Edmonton Oilers sign ‘Monster’ Jonas Gustavsson

Frans Nielsen joined Hockey Central to discuss the decision behind leaving New York for Detroit, an experience that he called overwhelming.

The Monster is heading west.

Jonas Gustavsson has signed a one-year, $800,000 pact with the Edmonton Oilers to back up Cam Talbot in net.

The 31-year-old Swedish goaltender posted a .908 save percentage and 11-9-1 record last season as the Boston Bruins‘ No. 2.

The 6-foot-4 Gustavsson has also played for the Maple Leafs and Red Wings.
