Sportsnet.ca — According to Brian McGrattan, the feud between himself and Ray Emery didn’t even last a full day.
McGrattan told Sportsnet on Tuesday morning, that he received a text message from Emery on Monday afternoon, inviting him to go out for dinner in Ottawa.
“It was all cool. We made up about an hour later,” McGrattan said. “It was just a disagreement at practice and it’s not the first time it’s happened. We both probably had a good time doing it. It was fun at the time. But it’s all cool and we’re good friends.”
On Monday, McGrattan and Emery became the focal point of practice after engaging in a brief fight in the corners. Emery was upset that McGrattan cut him off during a skating drill.
McGrattan admitted that he did get in his goaltender’s way during the drill, but says he was trying to yell at teammate Shean Donovan when the contact with Emery occured.
“I knew once I bumped into him, it was going to be a go in the corners,” joked McGrattan.
Emery was not around to comment on Tuesday morning, as only a handful of players were on the ice for an optional skate at Scotiabank Place.
