Veteran winger Loui Eriksson will rejoin the Vancouver Canucks lineup for their game against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, the club announced.

The 32-year-old has been sidelined since mid-October while dealing with a knee injury, but will make his return Saturday to appear in his fifth game of the season. Eriksson recorded one assist through his first four games of the year.

“It feels good to be back in,” Eriksson said, according to the team. “I tried to stay positive during rehab and it paid off, I’m back sooner than expected. I’m excited.”

Jake Virtanen and Brendan Gaunce will sit out Saturday’s game. Virtanen, who’s been skating alongside Henrik and Daniel Sedin, has two goals and four points through 15 games thus far. Gaunce has zero points through two appearances with the big club in 2017-18.
