NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has announced Finland and Czech Republic as hosts of 2020 Global Series regular season games.
The Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators will open the regular season in Prague at the O2 Arena. The Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche will meet later in the fall in Helsinki for a pair of games.
Boston and Nashville will also finish its training camps in Germany and Switzerland, respectively, and play an exhibition game.
Bettman made the announcement in Stockholm, Sweden, which is hosting a pair of games on Friday and Saturday between the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Earlier this year, the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers opened their 2019-20 regular seasons against each other in Prague, Czech Republic.
It’s the fourth-straight year and ninth-season overall where the league is traveling to Europe to play regular season matchups.
