Calgary Flames forward Lance Bouma should expect a call from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Saturday.
Bouma was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct after kneeing Toronto Maple Leafs forward Brandon Kozun.
The incident occured while Kozun was carrying the puck through the neutral zone and immediately after, Bouma fought Leafs forward Zach Sill.
He played 2:44 minutes of ice time and registered one shot on goal before being ejected from the game. Kozun returned to the ice midway through the second period. Calgary scored twice on the five-minute penalty kill, including this 2-on-0.
Before Friday, the 24-year-old had accumulated 30 total penalty minutes in 65 games this season.
