Flames goalie Brian Elliott pulled after first goal in Game 4

The Anaheim Ducks beat Calgary Flames goalie Brian Elliott just over five minutes into the game on their third shot, so Flames coach Glen Gulutzan decided to pull him.

Trailing 3-0 in their first round series and everything on the line in Game 4, the Calgary Flames took no chances with their goalie situation.

Brian Elliott allowed five goals on 27 shots in Game 3’s 5-4 OT loss, and although Flames coach Glen Gulutzan turned back to Elliott to start in Game 4, he didn’t stick with him for long.

Elliott was pulled after just one goal, less than six minutes into the game. Backup Chad Johnson, who last started a game on March 23 against Nashville, came on in relief.

Elliott faced just three shots on goal before allowing the first goal of Game 4. A little over a minute after Johnson came in, he allowed the game’s second goal on the second shot he faced.
