Calgary Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan has confirmed that Kris Versteeg will make his return to the Calgary Flames lineup Friday against the San Jose Sharks.
The 31-year-old was recently activated off of injured reserve on Wednesday and has been out since Nov. 24 with a hip injury. In 22 games this season, Versteeg has eight points.
His return could not come at a better time as Calgary ranks 21st in goals per game and 24th in power-play percentage.
The Flames remain three points back of the Dallas Stars for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with 11 games remaining.
