Flames recall Peluso, assign Lomberg to AHL

Doug MacLean talks about the one-game suspension to Ryan Lomberg, who made a line change specifically to instigate a fight as his Flames took on the Wild, saying it is worth it to stick up for his teammate.

The Calgary Flames have recalled winger Anthony Peluso from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat. In a corresponding move, forward Ryan Lomberg has been assigned to Stockton.

Peluso, a native of North York, Ont., signed a one-year deal with the Flames in August, and has played in 16 games with team’s AHL affiliate this season, scoring one goal and adding three assists for four points and 29 penalty minutes.

Peluso, 29, has played 147 career NHL games, netting four goals and 10 assists for 14 points and 213 penalty minutes.

Lomberg was recently suspended one game for instigating a fight with less than five minutes left in regulation Thursday against Minnesota. He served the automatic one-game suspension on Saturday. He played in just three games with the Flames this season, posting 17 penalty minutes.

The Flames will take on the Oilers Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET.
