Flames rookie Dube exits game after taking big hit from Duncan Keith

Dylan Dube is forced to exit the game after he gets smashed head-first into the boards by Duncan Keith. Keith received a five minute major and a game misconduct.

Calgary Flames rookie Dillon Dube left Saturday night’s game and didn’t return after dangerously getting slammed into the boards from behind by Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Duncan Keith.

The hit happened early in the first period as Dube was trying to gain control of the puck in right corner of the attacking zone. Right before Dube could corral it and send it out, Keith appeared to crunch his head straight into the end boards.

Keith was given a five-minute major and was ejected from the game for the play.

In the aftermath of the incident, Dube was helped off the ice by trainers and was kept out of the game for “precautionary reasons.”

It’s not yet clear yet what the exact nature of the injury is yet.
