The Calgary Flames and forward Tobias Rieder are discussing a possible contract, according to Sportsnet’s Eric Francis.
The 26-year-old has been with the Flames during training camp on a professional tryout and has impressed throughout the pre-season.
A fourth-round pick (114th overall) of the Oilers in the 2011 draft, the Landshut, Germany native has played 379 regular-season NHL games with the Arizona Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers.
Rieder has scored 55 goals in the NHL since 2014-15, but failed to find the back of the net in 67 contests with the Oilers last season.
