The Calgary Flames have traded forward Blake Comeau to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a fifth-round draft pick.

In 33 games this season Comeau has scored four goals while assisting on three others.

Comeau was claimed on waivers early last season from the New York Islanders after he failed to reach the score sheet in the first 16 games of the season. That tough start followed a career year on Long Island where he scored 24 goals and recorded 22 helpers over 77 games.

The Meadow Lake, Sask. native was originally a second-round draft pick by the Islanders in the 2004 NHL entry draft.
