Flyers’ goalie Mason injured, will not return

Philadelphia’s Steve Mason appears to hurt his leg and was forced to leave the game after kicking out his leg on a save.

Steve Mason will miss the rest of Saturday’s game after the Philadelphia Flyers goaltender was injured in the first period against the Boston Bruins.

Mason left the game at 12:53 of the first after stopping all five shots he faced. Ray Emery entered in relief.

Mason missed practice on Wednesday with an injury and had an MRI later that day.

The start against the Bruins was his third straight. He has a 8-12-6 with a 2.48 goals-against average and .919 save percentage this season.
