Flyers’ Gudas suspended 3 games for hit on Zibanejad

The Ottawa Senators had bad luck against the Flyers, losing Milan Michalek and Mika Zibanejad to injury.

Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Radko Gudas has been suspended three games for his illegal check to the head of Ottawa Senators forward Mika Zibanejad.

Gudas was not penalized on the play. Zibanejad left the game and did not return.

The Flyers picked up a 4-2 win in the Tuesday night contest.

Gudas released a statement following the suspension announcement:

“I don’t necessarily agree with the league’s decision but I accept and respect it, and I’ll move on from here and prepare myself for when I return.”
