Most know it as snow.

Gritty knows it as “Zamboni dust” and prior to Thursday the Philadelphia Flyers mascot didn’t realize it fell from the sky.

Philly’s mop-headed mischief-maker has taken the NHL by storm this season after being introduced in September and he documented his first encounter with snow on social media for all to enjoy.

After the initial shock of a new weather system wore off and Gritty realized catching snowflakes is more difficult than one might think, he fell in love, drawing a heart in the snow and blowing kisses to the big Zamboni in the sky.

Gritty’s antics have garnered worldwide attention and this has caused a rift in the seedy underbelly of the mascot world.

Longtime Los Angeles Kings mascot Bailey seemed to take umbrage with all the media attention Gritty has garnered.

Gritty caught wind of Bailey’s remarks and had a solid response.

Perhaps Bailey is still a bit salty from when the Flyers beat the Kings 5-2 earlier this month? The Flyers and Kings meet once more this season, on Feb. 2 in Philadelphia. Maybe Gritty and Bailey can bury the hatchet then and have a fluffy tête-à-tête.
