The Philadelphia Flyers have placed forward Jori Lehtera on waivers, after the player had struggled into remain in the lineup this season.

Lehtera, 31, has only appeared in 27 games with the Flyers this season and has mostly been a healthy scratch. In those 27 games, he has one goal and three points.

The Flyers originally acquired Lehtera and a first-round pick in a 2017 trade with the St. Louis Blues for Brayden Schenn.

Lehtera was under investigation by the NHL earlier this season for his alleged role in a drug bust in his native Finland over the summer.

“We have spoken with Jori Lehtera and the league office regarding the reports out of Finland, and will reserve any further comment on the matter at this time,” then Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said in a statement.
