The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed defenceman Samuel Morin to a multi-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The 22-year-old blue-liner was limited to just 20 total games in 2017-18 due to a lower-body injury, only two of which were with the Flyers. Morin suited up for 15 regular-season contests and three playoff games for the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

His AHL post-season was cut short on May 9 after suffering a torn ACL in a game against the Charlotte Checkers. Morin is expected to be out until February 2019.

Drafted 11th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft, Morin has played 165 regular-season AHL games since 2015-16 with eight goals and 42 points over parts of three seasons.
