Flyers say Nolan Patrick is ‘doing well’ after face infection

The Philadelphia Flyers select Winnipeg native Nolan Patrick from the Brandon Wheat Kings second overall at the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Philadelphia Flyers have provided an update on their first-round pick Nolan Patrick one day after announcing he had an infection on his face.

According to Web MD, “an abscess is a tender mass generally surrounded by a coloured area from pink to deep red. The middle of an abscess is full of pus and debris.”

Patrick was scheduled to skate on Thursday and it is still unclear when he will next take the ice.

This injury comes after Patrick had sports hernia surgery in June. Last year with the Brandon Wheat Kings, he had 20 goals and 46 points in 33 games.
