Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday and is expected to miss three weeks while recovering.

Gostisbehere, 26, missed Wednesday’s game against the Washington Capitals with the injury. In 40 games this season he has five goals and 12 points.

Defenceman Mark Friedman was recalled from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Tuesday and made his NHL debut against Capitals.

The news comes less than a week after another Flyers defenceman, Justin Braun, suffered a groin injury that will keep him out until after the all-star game.
