Flyers sign defenceman Mark Friedman to two-year contract extension

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenceman Mark Friedman to a two-year, one-way contract extension, the team announced Monday.

Friedman’s contract will carry an annual average value of $725,000 and will start during the 2020-21 season. He made his NHL debut this season registering an assist in six games.

The 24-year-old had three goals and 18 points in 45 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL. The Toronto native was selected in the third round (86th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
