Former Jets defenceman Tobias Enstrom signs in Sweden

Former Winnipeg Jets defenceman Tobias Enstrom has signed a one-year deal with MODO of Sweden’s second-tier HockeyAllsvenskan, according to Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.

Enstrom, 33, had played his entire 11-year NHL career with the Jets franchise, suiting up for the Atlanta Thrashers in his first four seasons before following the team to Winnipeg in 2011.

The Nordingra, Sweden native has skated in 719 career regular-season games for the franchise, racking up 54 goals and 308 points along with 422 penalty minutes. Enstrom has also played in 15 post-season contests, including 11 in Winnipeg’s run to the Western Conference Final this past spring.
