The Winnipeg Jets are expected to sign general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff and head coach Paul Maurice to extensions in the coming days, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Cheveldayoff has been in charge of the Jets since the franchise moved there from Atlanta in 2011.
The team has made one post-season appearance, a first-round sweep at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks in 2014-15, but the Jets do boast one of the NHL’s most impressive pool of prospects.
Maurice was hired on Jan. 12, 2014, and has a 136-112-33 record behind the Jets bench.
The 50-year-old made the Stanley Cup Final as the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2002.
