Gary Bettman to be inducted into Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame

Damien Cox joins The Starting Lineup to give his opinion on NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will be inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame later this year, the league announced Thursday.

Bettman is among 11 individuals to be inducted during the Dec. 21 ceremony in Manhattan. Other members of the 2018 class include Bob Costas, Jim Nantz, Mary Carillo, and Dick Vitale.

“This year’s class continues our strong tradition of honouring those in our industry who have made a difference both in front of and behind the camera and even in the executive board rooms,” Ken Aagaard, Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame chairman, said in a press release.

In November, Bettman will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the builder category.
