Goaltender Anderson takes personal leave from Senators to be with wife

Senators GM Pierre Dorion discusses the organization doing whatever’s best for Craig and Nicole Anderson through these tough times, allowing him to play the nets however he seems fit.

Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson has left the team to be with his wife Nicholle, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The Senators say there is no timetable for Anderson’s return.

Anderson took a leave of absence last week, returning on Sunday to make 37 saves in an emotional 2-0 shutout win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Goaltender Mike Condon, recently acquired from Pittsburgh, was scheduled to make his first start of the season when the Senators hosted Vancouver on Thursday.
