The expansion Vegas Golden Knights have a unique way of thanking their season ticket holders in their debut year in the NHL.
The Golden Knights have a list of the members inscribed into the ice just inside the blue line as a show of appreciation. It was an idea by George Salami, who is the manager of ice operations-conversion at T-Mobile Arena.
“That it was feasible, if we wanted to do something special on the ice, that we had the ability to put texture to something on the ice, before they laid the last round of it,” Vegas vice president of ticketing and suites Todd Pollock said.
“It’s in the thousands, the number of names out there. Many thousands.”
Season ticket holders will get the first glance at their names on Tuesday night when the Golden Knights host their first pre-season game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Vegas plays two more home pre-season games on Thursday and Sunday before opening its first NHL regulars season in Dallas on Oct. 6.
The Golden Knights home opener is on Oct. 10 against the Arizona Coyotes.
