The Vegas Golden Knights have officially signed William Karlsson to an eight-year contract through the 2026-27 season worth an average annual value of $5.9 million, general manager George McPhee announced Monday.

In his second season with the Golden Knights, Karlsson scored 24 goals and added 32 assists.

The 26-year-old appeared quite pleased with the deal.

The native of Marsta, Sweden recorded his 150th career point on Dec. 6 and has a total of 184 during his five-year NHL career.

Karlsson is the only player in Golden Knights history to have appeared in every one of the franchise’s games — a total of 191. He was originally acquired by Vegas during the 2017 Expansion Draft.
