Golden Knights’ Pacioretty expected to return to lineup vs. Leafs

Golden Knights forward Max Pacioretty says his return to Montreal will be distracting and it will be nice to get it out of the way, but says he’s not at all surprised by the Canadiens strong start this season.

Vegas Golden Knights winger Max Pacioretty is expected to return to the lineup for his club’s tilt against the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday night, according to head coach Gerard Gallant.

Pacioretty, who joined the Golden Knights via trade in September, has suited up for 10 games for Vegas so far, posting two goals through those appearances.

The former Montreal Canadiens winger was forced out of the Golden Knights lineup with an upper-body injury during the club’s 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 26. Linemate Paul Stastny, who similarly joined Vegas prior to the 2018-19 campaign, is still out with a lower-body injury, with a return date likely not coming until December.

Vegas heads to Montreal to take on Pacioretty’s former club on Saturday in what will be the former captain’s first game against the Canadiens.
