The incident took place during warmup for a qualification game between Deveaux’s Rogle BK and Vasteras IK from this past Thursday to see which team would be promoted to Sweden’s first league. The player who was slashed is Vasteras’ captain Per Helmersson.

Supposedly the slash was in retaliation to this hit from Helmersson on Deveaux from the prior playoff game which went unpenalized.

Deveaux ended up playing in this game and has not yet been suspended for the incident but reports from Sweden say the slash is being reviewed by the league’s disciplinarians. Rogle BK won the series and have been promoted.
