Gotta See It: Crazy SO goal in Ontario university game

Lakehead’s Grant Valiquette had pulled off one heck of a move in Ontario university hockey action this past Friday.

With a game against the Western Mustangs on his stick in a shootout, Valiquette came in wide before flipping the puck on his backhand, and batting it out of the air and over the glove of Western’s Lucas Peressini, who had stopped all previous Lakehead shooters.

Valiquette, a freshman, finished by “sheathing” his stick like he was Alexander Radulov in the 6-5 victory.

The Thunderwolves would beat the Mustangs once more by an identical score one night later, and the two teams are now tied with Waterloo for the final three playoff spots in the OUA’s West Division.
