Gotta See It: Finland’s slapstick line change

Clumsy Chicago Blackhawks prospect Teuvo Teravainen sparks a horribly hilarious line change for Team Finland.

Thank goodness it was only an exhibition game, or else this would be embarrassing.

Ah, who are we kidding?

Every Finnish player involved in this clown-car of a highlight clip should be a little red-faced.

During preliminary play for the upcoming 2014 IIHF World Championship in Belarus, Team Finland committed the least graceful line change you’ll see, maybe ever:

Chicago Blackhawks forward prospect Teuvo Teravainen, who played three games in the NHL this season, gets the slapstick started by tripping his way onto the bench as he skates off for a pair of fresh legs.

Behind Teravainen is onetime Toronto Maple Leaf Leo Komarov, who spent this season in the KHL. Komarov gets tripped up in Teravainen’s legs, and winger Tommi Huhtala — trying to hop the boards — gets his back leg caught on the clusterfuss and falls onto the ice.

Three up, three down. Comedy of errors.

Teravainen was cut from Finland’s final roster for the championships. No word if this misplay had anything to do with the decision, but it probably didn’t help his case.
