Gotta See It: Don’t you wish you could play like Peter Forsberg even when you’re feeling “under the weather”?
New York Islanders John Tavares – arguably the NHL’s most underrated offensive star and currently second only to Steven Stamkos in goals – had difficulty sleeping the night before his Sunday-afternoon affair with the Ottawa Senators, but that didn’t prevent him from playing hero once the tied game went to a skills competition.
I apologize to all the fans who came last night. Unfortunately I fell ill. Thank you for all the support! #BestFans #SeeYouAtTheNextOne

Watch as Tavares does his best Forsberg ’94 Winter Games impression to beat the Sens’ Robin Lehner and seal a rare 3-2 home victory for the Isles (just their third).
“I wasn’t 100 per cent but I gave it my best,” said Tavares, who was described as “under the weather” by coach Jack Capuano prior to puck drop. “I’m glad we got the win.”
Does anyone know if that Tavares shootout move is single? I’d like to ask it out.

Lehner felt he gave Tavares too much room on shootout clincher. “I’m usually pretty good in the shootout. Today, I was just out of sync.”

Enjoying a point-per-game pace, the 22-year-old Tavares has 13 goals and 12 assists in 25 contests this season.
