Gotta See It: Mike Smith’s new mask celebrates Calgary Stampede

New Flames goaltender Mike Smith joins the show to discuss his trade to Calgary, the opportunity to play in a Canadian market and his former captain Shane Doan parting ways with the Coyotes.

The city of Calgary is known for two things: hockey and the stampede. With his new mask, goalie Mike Smith is celebrating both.

David Arrigo, an artist who has been painting masks for Smith his entire career, debuted the new cage on Friday.

Arrigo wrote on his website that Smith wanted the mask “to go over the top” to celebrate the Stampede.

Arrigo also says the mask continues a tradition of including family in the art, this time featuring Smith’s children driving a chuck wagon.

You can see more photos of the mask on Arrigo’s website.
