Gotta See It: NHL unveils 2017 All-Star sweaters

The SN hockey writer is sure there were plenty of discussions in the Leafs organisation on whether participating in the All Star Game would be the best thing for their star rookie, but given the maturity he's shown, any concerns were easily allayed.

Now that we know which players will be attending the NHL All-Star Game, it’s time to see what they’ll be wearing.

The NHL released a photo of the official all-star sweaters Wednesday. Take a look:

The four colours—one for each division—all come from various sweaters worn by the host Los Angeles Kings throughout the franchise’s 50-year history.

The Pacific Division will wear black, the Atlantic will wear gold, the Central Division will be in purple, and the Metropolitan will wear white.

The silver detailing is also a way to tie in the NHL logo as well as the Centennial logo, while the font for the numbers and player names is inspired by L.A.’s iconic HOLLYWOOD sign.

Each jersey also features a band of stars, which is reminiscent of the threads we saw at NHL all-star games in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The 2017 All-Star weekend runs Jan. 27-29 in Los Angeles.
