Hansen ‘should play’ Monday despite collapse

Jannik Hansen collapsed on the Canucks' bench after taking a hit from Dennis Wideman and was treated by team doctors after the scary situation.

A day after appearing to collapse on the bench Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen should be ready to play Monday against the Arizona Coyotes.

Hansen was hit in the corner of the Calgary Flames zone by defenceman Dennis Wideman during the second period of Saturday’s game. The 28-year-old then skated to the bench before appearing to collapse.

After being attended to by the Canucks medical staff Hansen was escorted to the team’s dressing room before heading to the hospital for testing.

All reports last night suggested everything was fine, and today’s report from the club confirms that.

Hansen has eight goals and 13 points in 32 games this season with Vancouver.
